BOOMFPS

Games

Nine titles, rolled out in four stages. The order isn't which game is biggest — it's which can be made to work soonest, weighted by how well its population fits age-banded play.

Why hosting decides the order

When the publisher hosts the match — Warzone, Apex, Hunt — the result only exists on their servers, so it has to be recovered through screenshots, OCR and a dispute queue. When we host the server — CS2, Halo, R6, Hell Let Loose — the result is authoritative the moment the match ends. No upload, no review, no argument. That makes a self-hosted game dramatically cheaper to run and dramatically harder to cheat, which is why they land in stage 2 rather than last.

Stage 1 — Launch

2 titles

One nightly lobby that actually fills. Warzone for the audience, Apex because it is the one with a LiveAPI.

Call of Duty: Warzone

Points race · teams of 4 · pc, playstation, xbox

Publisher hosts

Heaviest 30–45 of any FPS

The dad-gamer heartland, and the single best population match for age-banded play. Publisher-hosted, so results come from screenshots until something better exists.

Apex Legends

Points race · teams of 3 · pc, playstation, xbox

Publisher hosts

Skews 18–28

Younger than the rest, but the only game here with an official LiveAPI — so it is where automatic result reporting lands first, via the desktop companion app.

Stage 2 — Authoritative results

2 titles

Add the self-hosted games. Own the server, own the result: no screenshots, no OCR, no dispute queue.

Counter-Strike 2

Round-based · teams of 5 · pc

We host

Strong 25–40

The best technical fit in existence: own the server, get the demo file, settle the match with zero human review. FACEIT and ESEA already prove the model at scale.

Halo Infinite

Arena · teams of 4 · pc, xbox

We host

Strong 30–45 nostalgia

Badly underrated here. Excellent custom-game support, arena scoring that is trivial to compute, and a demographic that grew up on it and never left.

Stage 3 — Breadth

3 titles

Objective and tactical formats, where map knowledge and rotation beat reaction time.

Battlefield REDSEC

Objective · teams of 4 · pc, playstation, xbox

Partial

Strong 30–50

Objective and vehicle play rewards map knowledge and rotation over raw aim, which is exactly the thesis. Community servers help but results still need capture.

Rainbow Six Siege

Round-based · teams of 5 · pc, playstation, xbox

We host

Good 25–40

Tactical, round-based, and custom matches are first-class. Utility and map control decide rounds far more often than reaction time.

WARDOGS

Objective · teams of 6 · pc

We host

Arma-adjacent, likely heavy 30-50

Best raw fit on the list and the biggest open question. Self-hostable through approved partners, an Arma-inspired tactical map, and a persistent economy where managing risk and money is a real skill axis that has nothing to do with reflex. Two weeks into early access with no tournament scene yet. BLOCKER: base mode is 100 players across three teams of 33, which is not a roster size — teamSize 6 here is the configuration we NEED, not one we have confirmed. Rent one community server and find out before building anything.

Stage 4 — The long tail

3 titles

The oldest-skewing communities and the free-to-play funnel widener.

Hell Let Loose

Objective · teams of 6 · pc

We host

Very heavy 30–50

The oldest-skewing community of the lot, self-hosted servers, and a culture that would take a league for grown-ups seriously. Long matches are the only catch.

Hunt: Showdown

Extraction · teams of 3 · pc, playstation, xbox

Publisher hosts

Very heavy 30–45

Culturally the purest fit anywhere — patience, sound and positioning beat twitch, by design. Smaller population and publisher-hosted, so it waits.

Farlight 84

Points race · teams of 4 · pc, playstation, xbox, mobile

Publisher hosts

Mixed

Free to play and easy to recruit into, which makes it a cheap way to widen the funnel once the core leagues are full.
